1/19/17 and 1/20/17

Today's agenda:

    • We did a numbers pass along to work on 3 digit numbers i.e. 431-cuatrocientos treinta y uno. We are working on knowing numbers 0-999 (page 165)

    • We worked on knowing how to ask and answer How old somebody is? and When is their birthday? Students were given a worksheet with a model that explains the format. Students wrote out the 1-8 following the model.

    • We worked more on knowing how to use comparitives-page 174. Student should come see me to explain this concept.

    • We watched, listened to, and broke down the telehistoria-escena 2 on page 172. The students watched it 5 times.

a) straight thru without subtitles, without stopping.

b) with subtitles, but stopping and checking for understanding.

c) with subtitles, but not stopping to check for understanding.

d) straight thru without subtitles, without stopping.

e) straight thru with English subtitles, without stopping

by the end of the 5th time thru the students understood the content pretty well. Absent students should see me at lunch to be able to go thru the video.

    • students did a corresponding worksheet Unit 3.2-activity 9-turned in for credit.

    • We revisited the story "La familia de Tomas". students need to know the family vocabulary (pages 164 and 183), they need to understand the story, they need to know the relationship the characters have to one another, for example: Tomas es el nieto de Juan Carlos, el hijo de Marcos, el hermano de Susana, el sobrino de Felipe, y el primo de Gloria. In addition they should be able to answer questions similar to the following: Quien es el esposo de Elena? Como se llama la hermana de Tomas? Cual es la relacion entre Marcos y Gloria? Cuantos hijos tienen Felipe y Josefina? Con quien esta casado Felipe?
