YOUTH FOOD ADVOCATES (PAID)
WHO: High school students currently 9th, 10th, 11th Graders
WHAT: Youth Food Advocates (YFA) is a 10-month internship program for young people who are interested in systemic change in New York City food systems, with a focus on school food.
The YFA internship is ideal for young people interested in:
Becoming school food experts
Gaining advocacy skills
Learning about and improving NYC food policy
Making an impact in their school communities and citywide
This year, our youth leaders:
Conducted citywide qualitative observations across 15 high school campuses
Traveled to Albany to support Healthy School Meals for All NY Kids campaign
Presented their research results and recommendations to audiences across the city
And so much more!

WHEN: From September through June, YFA interns meet weekly virtually and a minimum of four times in-person to plan, organize, and participate in campaign actions and coalition activities.

Get exposure to all types of writing, with the option to embark with your mentor or mentee on a specialized track of poetry, audio, performance, leadership development, college essay writing, career readiness, and more—including workshops, independent studies, and self-paced projects attuned to your goals.
> COMMUNITY STUDIOS
Meet with a small community of mentors and mentees at least once a month to connect and share your interests and passions. Studios cover a wide range of genres, media, topics, and professions—held at different times and locations to fit your schedule.

Have the freedom and flexibility to decide when, where, and how you want to learn.

THE MET TEEN COPYIST
WHO: High school students 15 to 18.
WHAT: Become an artist with Teen Copyists. Copying art is a time-honored way to learn and advance your skills. Join the 150-year-old tradition of copying artworks at The Met and develop your painting abilities like professional artists do. In this five-day intensive, you will:
• Practice art techniques by copying the painting and drawing style of original artworks in The Met collection
• Work in graphite, charcoal, and acrylic paint
• Chat with guest artists from The Met’s Copyist Program
• Create in a community of teens as dedicated as you are
• Learn from a teaching artist and peers by engaging in feedback sessions
