WHAT: City Limit’s CLARIFY (City Limits Accountability Reporting Initiative for Youth) program provides meaningful experiences that equip high school students with the skills they need to succeed in higher education, future careers, and civic life. Through hands-on training, mentorship, and real work experience, students gain critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills. This unique opportunity is designed for students from all backgrounds, with a special focus on those who may not typically have access to paid internships or professional development programs. CLARIFY aims to bridge this gap, helping youth build confidence and prepare for a successful future. CLARIFY is a paid internship in public service journalism that provides students with important career readiness skills through the lens of public service journalism. Gain skills in research, journalism writing, public speaking, teamwork, and meeting deadlines.
WHERE: CUNY Brooklyn or CUNY York college campus, NY / Virtual
WHEN: 6-week program that meets in mid-town Manhattan Mondays-Thursdays from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm with at-home assignments on Fridays.

We’re looking for: 4-5 interns with a weekly commitment of 12 to 16 hours a week during the summer for a 4 credit class and 8 to 12 hours a week during the fall for a 3 credit class.

WHAT: Code Next is a free, computer science education program that meets Black, Latinx and Indigenous students in their own communities and provides the skills and inspiration they need for long and rewarding careers in tech and computer science-related elds. Code Next Labs are physical labs where students come in person to learn about all things computer science-related. If you have any further questions, please reach out to codenext@google.com.

YOUTH FOOD ADVOCATES (PAID)
WHO: High school students currently 9th, 10th, 11th Graders
WHAT: Youth Food Advocates (YFA) is a 10-month internship program for young people who are interested in systemic change in New York City food systems, with a focus on school food.
The YFA internship is ideal for young people interested in:
Becoming school food experts
Gaining advocacy skills
Learning about and improving NYC food policy
Making an impact in their school communities and citywide
This year, our youth leaders:
Conducted citywide qualitative observations across 15 high school campuses
Traveled to Albany to support Healthy School Meals for All NY Kids campaign
Presented their research results and recommendations to audiences across the city
And so much more!

WHAT: Clear Direction Mentoring (CDM) is a FREE mentorship program dedicated to increasing diversity and inclusion in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, and Medicine (STEMM) fields by providing 1-on-1, group, and peer mentorship support to outstanding high school students from underrepresented backgrounds in STEMM.

GATEWAY SPOTLIGHTS
9th Grade Students had their official Field Day and the pictures speak for themselves. Lots of smiles from the 9th grade.
We are so incredibly proud of our DDA kids along with Jason Romero who represented Software for winning 1st place in the Package Design and Website Design categories. Lin and Jason won $300 along with a trophy. Super proud of all our students that competed today against schools from across the city.
Congratulations to all the 2025 National Honors Society Members!
Software Engineering Students who won Battle of the Pathways won a trip at the American Dream Mall.
