WHAT: SHIP offers participants exposure to health careers and community health issues via 6 week internship placements in local hospitals, health centers, and organizations.
Programming includes:
Six-week internship placements in hospitals and community-based health centers and organizations

WHAT: The 6th Annual NYC DOE/MOME Public School Film Festival (NYCPSFF) is open to all NYC Department of Education (DOE) middle and high school students. A panel of educators and media professionals will select approximately 25 films. Each film selected will receive a certificate of official selection.
The filmmakers will be invited to a special screening day and career development event tentatively scheduled for May 15, 2024*. Each selected film may also appear on the City’s television network, NYC Media, and the NYC Media Website, at a time determined by the Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment (MOME).

WHAT: Summer STEM is an opportunity to try engineering for the first time or to dive deeper into engineering team work. Each 3- or 6-week class covers college-level topics and activities completed by The Cooper Union undergraduates in their first or second year or explores student and faculty research projects. Current high school students in grades 9, 10, 11 and 12 can apply. This selective program encourages all curious, compassionate, and college-interested students to apply regardless of prior experience.
The Summer STEM 2024 classes are:
Intro to Engineering (9th graders, 3 weeks, in person)
Sustainable Futures (10th and 11th graders, 6 weeks, in person)
Digital Electronics for the Inventor (10th and 11th graders, 6 weeks, in person)
Design and Drawing for Engineering (10th and 11th graders, 6 weeks, in person)
LInear Algebra for Engineering Research (10th, 11th, and 12th graders, 3 weeks, online)

WHO: Highschool Students
WHAT: The Summer Neuroscience Program (SNP) is a two-week course for NYC public high schoolers led by Rockefeller graduate students. Participants take a look at ongoing neuroscience research in an effort to understand how the brain works and how it relates to our daily life. We aim to introduce students to modern neuroscience, while empowering them to explore in their own unique ways the mysteries that remain.
In SNP students will:
participate in a series of interactive lectures
read and present a scientific article
design an original neuroscience experiment
meet with Rockefeller scientists
dissect a brain
visit research facilities

THE SUMMER YOUTH EMPLOYMENT PROGRAM (SYEP)(PAID)
WHO: Highschool Students
WHAT: Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) is the nation’s largest youth employment program, connecting NYC youth between the ages of 14 and 24 with career exploration opportunities and paid work experiences each summer. Participants receive the opportunity to explore their interests and career pathways, develop workplace skills and engage in learning experiences that help to develop their social, civic and leadership skills. By participating in structured project and work-based opportunities, NYC youth are better prepared for careers of the future.

GATEWAY SPOTLIGHTS
UAG Students were given the opportunity to visit two colleges in one day. SUNY Purchase which is an known art school and Mercy University. Kids had many questions in regards to both schools and were envisioning their future's there.
