Sound+Science PROGRAM (UNPAID)
WHO: Highschool Students
WHAT: Sound+Science is an innovative after-school program, research lab, and community in NYC for high school students interested in exploring the unique and deep connection between music, science, and technology. Through a unique curriculum, participants will explore modules like ‘The Hidden Codes in Electronic Music’, ‘From Hip-Hop to AI’, and Music Improvisation and the Evolution of the Mathematics of Computation Sound+Science, revealing the profound connections between music, technology, physics and mathematics.
Participants can look forward to Masterclass Lectures, where industry experts shed light on the confluence of music and technology and the Studio Labs, which provide a hands-on environment for participants to apply their knowledge, fostering creativity and collaboration.
Sound+Science will also offer a challenging and supportive environment that pairs high school students with local college STEM majors as they work together on Incentive-based projects designed to challenge and motivate participants to create real-world applications that resonate with musicians, producers, and coders while facilitating knowledge exchange and mutual growth.

Baruch College STEM Research Academy (PAID) Deadline: 11/06/24

WHO: Must be a current NYC Public High School 10th or 11th grader when applying by December with an overall 80+ average.
WHAT: The Baruch College STEM Research Academy is a two-semester program aimed at NYC public high school students. Initially, during the spring semester, you will be enrolled in a college-credit research methods course designed to equip you with the essential tools of scientific inquiry. This includes formulating research questions, designing experiments, performing literature searches, and critically engaging with scientific literature, all aimed at preparing you for the expectations and rigor of working in a research lab environment.
Successful completion of this course, with at least a grade of C, paves the way for a hands-on, six-week summer research experience under the guidance of CUNY research faculty, where you can choose to dive into a research internship. The program's objectives are centered on developing a profound understanding of the nature of science, acquainting students with the culture of scientific research, and enhancing literacy skills critical for success in science. This culminates in a team-based presentation of your research findings at the CUNY STEM Research Exhibition and the NYC Science Research Mentoring Consortium Summer Symposium.

WHAT: Our mission is to encourage inner city youth, especially girls to pursue careers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. We are motivated by the United States overall lag in producing an adequate number of STEM professionals and the under representation of women and people of color.Women who work in STEM fields make 33% more than women in non-STEM positions. Uplifting our women is key to bringing this community, and other communities in a similar circumstance, out of poverty.Through early application, hands on training, mentorship, tutoring and social events Digital Girl, Inc. will boost confidence, raise self esteem and STEM career awareness within less fortunate areas to create professionals who can be positive contributors to society.

WHAT: Exhibit your artwork, build your portfolio, each exhibiting artist gets a $100 Blick gift card. We curate from original artwork and take care of it and return It if unselected. If your work is selected, it is framed and installed in a group show of teen artists across NYC. Your artwork will be in our permanent online gallery.

WHAT: The NBCUniversal Internship Program allows students to unlock their potential by contributing to big projects in meaningful ways that matter. To thrive as an NBCU intern, you are ready to bring your passion for media, entertainment, and technology along with your desire to learn each day.
In addition to all of our internships being paid, we will also offer the following for our Summer 2025 interns:
