WHAT: The Noguchi Museum's Making Your Mark program is a paid studio art-making intensive for rising junior and senior City public high school students. Participating students will learn about Isamu Noguchi, the namesake and founder of the Noguchi Museum, including his life and artistic practices, while also learning interdisciplinary approaches to sculpture. Students will also explore aspects of their own identity, creativity, and self-discovery while creating their own artwork, which will be shown in a public exhibition of student artwork at the museum's Education Studio.

WHAT: Love technology and enjoy visiting your local library? Want to make a difference in your community while building your resume and gaining valuable work and leadership experiences?
Consider applying for the Brooklyn Public Library's Teen Techies internship program Through the program, participating interns will learn new computer skills in a two-week training institute in the fall, and then use those skills to help BPL patrons use library computers throughout the year. Interns will also be assisting BPL's adult librarians by working as lab assistants and assisting library patrons with their research and technology needs.Interns who participate in the internship will receive stipends both for completing their initial training as well as for completing their library service hours. In addition, interns will also receive community service credits.

WHAT: Are you a high school senior interested in becoming a teacher? The Future Teachers Program with Young Minds in Young Minds in Motion
offers a paid, hands-on experience in early childhood and elementary education. Students will work alongside certified educators, attend career development workshops, and receive mentorship to support their journey into the teaching profession. The program is completely free to students and also provides opportunities to earn scholarships for college.
WHERE: It is held on an ongoing basis in Brooklyn, Staten Island, and Harlem.

SUMMER LAW, POETRY, AND ABOLITION WORKSHOP OPPORTUNITY FOR YOUTH (PAID)
WHO: Black and other high school stidents of color, ages 14-25
WHAT: We are recruiting Black and other people of color between the ages of 14 and 25 to participate in a research study. The study will be an 11-day workshop in which participants will utilize poetry and abolitionist theory to reimagine legal cases, offering participants a platform for learning, self-expression, and personal growth.
Pre and post-interviews/focus groups for the research involved in the study will happen in mid June and late July, respectively.
Compensation: Participants will receive $500 for their valuable participation in the workshop. This is around $15 for every hour they spend with us during the study, which adds up to about $500. If participants decide to leave the study before it's finished, they will still get paid for the hours they spent with us, but not for the ones they missed. They will also receive up to $50 for each hour of additional interviews and focus groups they attend.
Participants in this study could look forward to:
- Gaining insights into the legal systems of New York City, including their rights within them.
- Having a platform to discuss their thoughts and perspectives regarding the legal system.
- Obtaining exposure to legal knowledge creation, which could significantly aid in their career decision-making regarding the legal field.
- Furthermore, by participating in this study, they will contribute to a greater cause to improve research and practices in education and law. We focus on decreasing violence caused by legal and educational systems, and their involvement can significantly impact them.
WHERE: The workshop will take place in Brooklyn, NY, specific address to be provided after participants have been selected.
WHEN: 11 days of interactive sessions and discussions. Each day will be approximately 3 hours long. Pre and post interviews will last approximately 60 minutes each.
