WHO: Highschool Students
WHAT: The Field Biology Internship (FBI) is geared towards high school students interested in gaining STEM skills, especially out in the field, and if you like learning about local ecosystems and life. This is an opportunity to build a foundation in research and experiment design which are essential skills for future programs and college. Field biology is the study of organisms in their natural environment. Interns will visit and experience various ecosystems in Alley Pond Park and other parts of Queens, NYC. Take what you learn in the classroom to the outdoors and experience the science yourself!
Interns will:
learn about different urban environments and the local flora and fauna
gain experience in collecting field data and record keeping
build a community with fellow interns and mentor(s)
meet with local environmental professionals
develop skills in personal research, experiment design, and public speaking/presenting
This program is great for students looking to major in sustainability, environmental science/studies, natural sciences, biology, or other related fields.
After acceptance, there is a $150 fee to participate in the internship. Financial aid can be provided at request and no documentation is necessary.

WHAT: This program offers training in public service reporting and news writing. Participants will collaborate in teams, and under the guidance of an instructor, receive training to report on a public service story. Student work has in the past been published in City Limits. Successful participants will receive a stipend of $2,000 at the end of the program.

WHO: Highschool Students living in NYC
WHAT: At BALI we believe that all youth, including female identifying and gender expansive-youth are destined to greatness. Our mission is to inspire them to become effective, dynamic and visionary 21st century leaders as well as active and creative participants in civic, political, corporate and community life. This program provides the skills set and the social-emotional learning needed by the current generation of young women to gain the knowledge and the confidence needed to become leaders in all circles of life.
Journey to Leadership is BALI’s signature program, 6 weeks total, 3 separate cohorts on leadership skills and debate training.
There are 60 trainees per program, 9:30am- 3:30pm, Monday - Friday.
Program includes workshops, seminars, speakers, networking and debate labs.

WHO: Must be a rising senior attending a high school in NYC
WHAT: Brooklyn Interns for Arts & Culture (BIAC) is a paid, one-year college, career, and life-readiness after school internship program that welcomes a cohort of 15 New York City high school students each year.
During the program, BIAC Interns learn what it takes to have a career in arts management, get support with post-high school planning, and learn critical wellness practices to help them manage life's transitions while building community.
BIAC empowers all participants to be their most authentic selves while contributing to the community around them and sharpening and vision, voice and power!
PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS + BENEFITS:

Create a plan for college, your career and/or training options after high school
Grow your peer and professional network and learn from BAM professional staff

LADDER INTERNSHIP (UNPAID)
WHO: Highschool Students living in NYC
WHAT: Ladder was Founded by Harvard entrepreneurs, Ladder Internships was founded with the mission to help the most talented high school interns work with the world’s most ambitious start-ups. We do that by selecting the best interns, training them, and pairing them with world-class start-ups. Our start-up founders are ambitious and care about young professionals - they come from places like Harvard Business School, have gotten funding from places like the Y-Combinator, and have worked at companies like McKinsey, Google, and Microsoft. Ladder Internships is a world-class internship program for ambitious high school students. In the program, student work with top start-ups and NGOs to develop real world projects. The program runs 8 weeks, costs $1990, and involves weekly meetings with a supervisor from the start-up. The program is selective. The research internship program costs $5400 and the joint program is $6400. There is full financial aid for students with need.
