WHAT: The 92nd Street Y is now recruiting for our new cohort of Teen Producers. Teen Producers is a paid two-year career exploration internship and mentorship program that helps high school students acquire the tools they need to pursue careers in creative industries, develop as artists, and contribute to programming at 92NY. Participating teens have the opportunity to develop their technique in their chosen art forms through yearlong classes and private study with faculty in 92NY’s School of the Arts, Music, and Dance. 92NY covers all costs associated with classes and private study.

WHO: NYC juniors, seniors, and graduating seniors
WHAT: An informed citizenry is a critical component for a healthy, thriving community. Introducing youth to the power of public-service journalism not only gives them real-world work, civics, and writing experience, it can also have a significant downstream impact on the student, and society. This internship is perfect for students keen to explore the worlds of media and journalism. City Limits, NYC’s oldest non-profit investigative news agency, launched the City Limits Accountability Reporting Initiative for Youth (CLARIFY) in 2014 to empower the youth and train students in public service journalism. Interns are trained in the essential tenets of reporting and news writing. As an intern, you will be trained in interviewing, investigating, ethics, photojournalism, reporting, and news writing. Interns will collaborate with their instructors to publish their work in City Limits. Interns will work with City Limits reporters and focus on local, relevant news stories. In Fall 2023, for instance, interns worked on a reporting project about Mayor Eric Adams’ work and progress in the area of housing.

WHAT: This Introduction to Cybersecurity course has been designed to teach students about how to better protect their data and improve their cyber infrastructure. Topics covered in the course include: Threats, Attacks, and Vulnerabilities. Technologies and Tools. Architecture and Design. Identity and Access Management. Risk Management. Cryptography and PKI and Digital Footprints. You will be required to take a pre-assessment before the start of the course. Instructions will be emailed to you. You are required to upload or email your transcripts

WHEN: July 9th to August 8th, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3- 5 pm

WHAT: Founded in 1904, Big Brothers Big Sisters of NYC (BBBS of NYC) is the nation’s first and the city's largest youth mentoring organization. Our vision is that all youth achieve their full potential. Our mission is to build and support mentoring relationships to ignite the biggest possible futures for youth. Our work is guided by our values: Put Youth First; Advance Diversity, Equity & Inclusion; Operate with Integrity; Engage with Empathy; and Invest in Learning & Innovation.
By matching a caring adult mentor, a Big, with a New York City youth, a Little, we are inspiring the next generation of leaders. Through our one-to-one mentoring, Workplace Mentoring Program (corporate engagement), affinity groups, College & Career Success Program, Bigs in Blue, and other community partner programs, BBBS of NYC serves over 2,500 youths annually across all five boroughs. 97% of our Littles are promoted to the next grade, and 93% of our Littles are accepted into college. Food & Beverages will be Provided and Transportation Pass.

WHO: Hispanic Highschool Students
WHAT: The Angelo Del Toro Puerto Rican/Hispanic Youth Leadership Institute, also known as PR/HYLI is a transformative civic engagement program that empowers Hispanic students to become leaders in their communities. Through PR/HYLI, students learn the intricacies of the legislative process through research, empowering them to advocate for the issues that matter most.
Our Approach
PR/HYLI comprises seven delegations across New York State, with NYC as the largest delegation. These delegations delve into the legislative process, conducting research on current bills and exploring their potential impact on the Latino community, encompassing
social, economic, racial, and cultural aspects.
Skills-Building
Through well-researched evidence, these students learn to articulate their opinions confidently. This program fosters confidence, leadership skills, and provides a nurturing environment where youth can express themselves in English and Spanish authentically and professionally, surrounded by educators and leaders who share their background and language, ensuring a
safe and empowering space for their growth.
