This is an amazing opportunity for you to gain meaningful connections, earn money, add experiences to your resume, and pick up on new skills. ***You will be paid at the rate of $15/hour, every 2 weeks***

WHO: UAG students who participated in SYEP over the summer of 2023
WHAT: The SYEP Work, Learn & Grow (WLG) program is a year-round experience providing high-need youth a chance to strengthen their work readiness skills, explore careers, and receive academic support, including college-level courses. Participants may earn college credits through a partnership with CUNY’s Kingsborough Community College, where they will take courses in College Planning, Career and Life Planning, Strategies for College Success, Critical Issues in Personal Health, and Computer Concepts (all while getting paid --- first a stipend and then an hourly wage!)

WHO: Students that are at least 14 years of age, live in NYC, and are in grades 10, 11, or 12
WHAT: Our Future is Science (OFIS) is a program that pairs high-schoolers (mentees) with STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) graduate students (mentors) across the country. Over the course of six months, students explore how STEAM disciplines can be used as tools to positively impact communities across the world. An honorarium is provided to mentees of $1,000!

GUGGTEENS COLLABORATIVE (PAID)
WHO: all NYC high school students (grades 9–12).
WHAT: The GuggTeens Collaborative is a ✨FREE✨ program for NYC high school students who are interested in the arts and would like to learn about the behind-the-scenes of the Guggenheim Museum! Stipend of $720 and students will receive free MetroCards and snacks
WHERE: This program is in-person at the Guggenheim Museum (with occasional field trips or remote events
WHEN: First-year participants will commit 8 hours per month from December 2023 to May 2024, including: 2 in-person visits to the museum each month on select Sundays from 10am-1pm (exact dates TBD). Choose to attend 1-2 special events per month. These special events can be in-person at the museum, field trips, or remote. They usually occur on Sunday or Tuesday afternoons.

WHO: Any student in high school
WHAT: ACE GNY is a free after-school mentorship program that introduces high school students to careers in architecture, engineering, and construction management. Students are organized on teams set-up to emulate actual design teams. Mentors are industry professionals that guide the students through a mock design project while introducing them to the careers, industry vocabulary, and various roles companies play in the industry. Students learn about core principles of the industry, use design software, gain communication and technical skills, and go on construction site tours! ACE GNY also holds webinars on applying to college, essay writing, scholarship applications, internships and more.

WHO: Plan to graduate from a U.S. high school in spring 2024, Intend to enroll in an accredited four-year college beginning in fall 2024, Earn a minimum, cumulative unweighted GPA of 3.5 or above, Demonstrate Unmet Financial Need – They will consider applicants with family annual gross income up to $95,000.
WHAT: The Cooke Foundation College Scholarship Program is the largest undergraduate scholarship program available to high-achieving high school seniors with financial need who seek to attend the nation’s best four-year colleges and universities. Each award is intended to cover a significant share of the student’s educational expenses – including tuition, living expenses, books and required fees. Awards vary by individual, based on the cost of tuition as well as other grants or scholarships received. This highly competitive scholarship includes the opportunity to graduate with as little debt as possible. The award, which is last dollar funding after all institutional aid, can provide as much as $55,000 per year to pursue a bachelor’s degree at any accredited undergraduate institution, ability to pursue any area of study, personal advising about selecting a college and navigating financial aid, and multifaceted advising about how to transition to college and maximize the college student experience
