WHO: Highschool Students
WHAT: The SCA Summer Internship Program (“SIP”) recruits talented NYC public high school students for a six-week paid internship with various SCA departments and business partner companies throughout New York City. SIP is designed to expose students to careers in various industries including but not limited to architecture, engineering, construction management, information technology, business, and public administration. The program provides interns with a diverse internship experience along with career mentoring. Students spend four days a week with their intern host and the remaining day attending educational programming. Assignments will vary depending on company or department and the student’s skill set. The internship is an in person position and the standard hours for the program are 9:00 am-4:00 pm Monday through Friday. A 10-hour OSHA construction safety course will be provided for students based on assignment need prior to the program start date. Students will be required to submit a signed parent consent form prior to participating in construction site visits.

During the program, BIAC Interns learn what it takes to have a career in arts management, get support with post-high school planning, and learn critical wellness practices to help them manage life's transitions while building community.
BIAC empowers all participants to be their most authentic selves while contributing to the community around them and sharpening and vision, voice and power!

WHAT: The Morgan Library & Museum is hosting a Teen Writing Contest
inspired by the exhibition Medieval Money, Merchants, and Morality
that explores how the widespread use of money in medieval life transformed society, often challenging and conflicting with the moral beliefs of the community. Choose an object from the selected images on the exhibition page and write a diary entry, no more than 3,000 characters, from the perspective of a character in the image. Who will you be? The devil or angel guiding to sin or salvation, the human with the power of the purse, the spectre of Death, or another creative choice? The winning entries will receive a $100 MasterCard gift card. The Teen Writing Contest is open to students ages 13-19.
