SPRINGBOARD TO DESIGN (UNPAID)
WHO: Grades 9-12 from underrepresented populations
WHAT: Springboard to Design encourages and mentors high school students from underrepresented populations to explore the process of theatrical collaboration and the many avenues of American Theatre design. Led by renowned members of the contemporary theatre in the heart of NYC, the Springboard to Design curriculum includes workshops, seminars, and access to important work on and off Broadway. Instructors will consist of award-winning artists who will create a collaborative environment for students, as they explore costume, set, lighting, projection, and sound design.
Springboard to Design aims to provide students with access to theatre education they may not otherwise receive. Therefore, no prior experience is required to participate. Applicants with an interest in sewing, fashion, drawing, painting, building, creating, and storytelling are highly encouraged to apply. Students who already have a love for theater but don’t know where they fit in are also encouraged.
WHERE: Springboard to Design will take place in the theatre district in midtown Manhattan.
WHEN: In 2025, the program will take place from July 6th - July 12th. The days are roughly 9am-11pm, with significant breaks. Participants are taken to evening shows, which let out between 9pm and 11pm.

Internship Description: BioBus, Inc. works towards a future in which all people experience the excitement of scientific discovery and have equal opportunity to pursue science careers. We cultivate this vision by creating immersive laboratory environments, such as the BioBus and BioBase, in which scientists join students for hands-on scientific exploration. BioBus, Inc. opens doors to science for minority, female, and low-income students in New York City, giving pre K - grade 12 students the chance to experience the excitement of discovery, to be mentored by research scientists, and to conduct their own science projects. BioBus, Inc. is pleased to announce that we are looking for interns to join our team.

WHAT: Summer Institute is an award-winning 6-week summer program where participants explore their own leadership skills and build a strong community with other Nashers…because at Sadie Nash we believe that all young women and gender-expansive youth are leaders NOW! Participate in workshops about identity, social justice, leadership, and other topics to foster critical thinking and a sense of community. Meet accomplished women and gender-expansive leaders like elected officials, business owners, and artists to make connections and learn about how they got to where they are. Attend field trips that enrich learning, build community, and create joy!

NEW-YORK HISTORICAL STUDENT HISTORIAN INTERNSHIP (💰PAID💰) Deadline: 03/30/25
NEW-YORK HISTORICAL STUDENT HISTORIAN INTERNSHIP (PAID)
WHO: Current 10th, 11th, 12th Graders
WHAT: Student Historians are high school-aged interns who use the resources of The New York Historical to conduct in-depth research and share their scholarship through the production of creative digital projects that serve as public educational resources. Interns meet with professional staff to learn about the museum, library, digital humanities, and history fields; and work collaboratively with fellow students to develop their historical thinking, communication, and digital media skills. The program involves substantial research and writing, allowing interns to deepen their understanding of American history and the digital humanities through academically rigorous, hands-on work. The historical theme of the internship is Our Composite Nation: Frederick Douglass’ America.
All interns will receive a $700 stipend upon successful completion of the internship. Participation in this program can be used to fulfill the extracurricular requirement for the NYSED Seal of Civic Readiness.
WHERE: The internship takes place in person at the New-York Historical Society.
WHEN: July 8, 2025 – August 14, 2025, meeting every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 10 am – 4 pm
