URBAN EXPLORERS THEATRE PROGRAM (PAID)
WHO: After school opportunity for identifying young women and gender expansive youth from 9 - 12th grade
WHAT:a year-round paid afterschool and summer fellowship program for high school students who have a professional interest in theatre (no prior experience necessary,) and an interest in using theatre as a tool for building community and advocating for people and places in their city. Through weekly in-person and virtual meetings, field trips, guest speakers, attending live theatre productions and professional development opportunities, participants in the Urban Explorers Theatre Fellowship program will learn about a variety of theatre techniques in devising and writing original pieces--from documentary to site-specific to forum theatre playwriting. The program will culminate with the creation of original work. Explorers will each receive a stipend of $300 for successfully participating in Semester 1, and a stipend of $500 for participating in Semester 2 (summer program), for a total of $800 if they participate in both semesters. Additionally, the program will provide academic career counseling and professional development, individualized mentorship, college and job recommendation letters, and a certificate of program completion. The program will also provide opportunities for fellows to prepare for entrance into additional theatre arts programs and collegiate programs.

WHO: All Hispanic High School students
WHAT: This program is a transformative civic engagement initiative that empowers Hispanic students to become leaders in their communities. Through PR/HYLI, students learn the intricacies of the legislative process, enabling them to advocate for the issues that matter most to their communities. Additionally, students can opt into a college-credit-bearing course and attain 2 points towards the seal of biliteracy, community service hours and more! Furthermore, juniors and seniors are invited to Albany to explore the University of Albany, participate in student-led workshops, engage with inspiring Latino leaders, and step inside the hallowed halls of the New York State Senate Chambers to debate bills currently under congressional consideration.
In essence, PR/HYLI is more than a program. It's a movement the empowers and fosters a new generation of leaders to carry forward the torch of progress and real change. The lessons are provided in English and Spanish. We encourage our English Language Learners to join. Applicants must write an entrance essay to be considered

GREEN GIRLS PAID INTERNSHIP (PAID)
WHO: High School Students 14 and older
WHAT: a STEM-based program that engages middle school girls from NYC public schools in
hands-on activities and outdoor adventures in New York City parks and waterways. During our weekly after school
program, students explore environmental science and learn about different environmental issues through experiential
education, service learning projects and student-centered discussions and citizen science projects.
WHERE: 830 Fifth Avenue, New York, NY 10065
WHEN: after school hours, between (3:00 pm - 6 pm) from 09/23 - 06/24. Each site meets once a week for a total of 12 weeks each semester.

WHAT: At BCNY, boys and young men can choose from over 40 afterschool and weekend programs that nurture the 4cs: competence, confidence, connection to community, and character development.
BCNY members select their programs, have access to clubhouse recreation rooms, homework help, mentoring and more
