WHAT: The Chancellor’s Student Advisory Council (CSAC) is recruiting changemakers! Our student members say, “CSAC is not only a group of advocates, but also a community of growth. Everyone is heard, everyone is included.” Apply to join us! No leadership experience is required.
Are you a student changemaker? CSAC students collaborate with NYC Public School leaders, provide diverse student perspectives on equity in education, and serve as a hub for student voice in decision-making. WHAT: A range of courses will be offered by City College of New York in Spring 2025. Students can earn up to 4 College Now credits. The courses include Human Biology, Financial Management, Startups (App Development or Entrepreneurship), Freshman Composition, Rocketry, Robotics, Designing Electric Skateboards, Advanced Algebra & Trigonometry, Precalculus, Calculus I, Introduction to Journalism, Ideas of Physics, Applications of Psychology, and Introduction to Game Programming.

BOTANICAL GARDEN EXPLAINER INTERNSHIP (PAID) Deadline: 12/01/24
BOTANICAL GARDEN EXPLAINER INTERNSHIP (PAID)
WHO: All NYC high school students (grades 9–12)
WHAT: Explainers are high school students who have been accepted into a competitive internship program and work as volunteer educators in the Everett Children’s Adventure Garden. Explainers learn about nature and plant science in order to become environmental educators for children and families by exploring the Garden. They commit to a minimum of 125 training and volunteer hours. The Onsite Internship takes place at the Everett Children’s Adventure Garden. This is a unique, 12-acre outdoor/indoor museum at The New York Botanical Garden (in Bronx, NY). In this innovative space children discover plant science through fun and engaging educational programs. Playful elements such as topiaries and mazes capture children’s imaginations and create an atmosphere of exploration and fun.

MUSIC INDUSTRY WORKSHOPS FOR MID-WINTER BREAK (PAID) Deadline: 12/04/24
MUSIC INDUSTRY WORKSHOPS FOR MID-WINTER BREAK (PAID)
WHO: Young people ages 14–17 who live within New York City.
WHAT: The B-Side is a program for young people that provides an introduction to different career opportunities in the music industry. Whether participants are aspiring artists or future music-industry leaders, this program will provide essential industry-related skills, along with the opportunity to make connections with performing artists, music-industry executives, accomplished producers, songwriters, and more.
The B-Side curriculum, designed by Carnegie Hall teaching artists and music industry professionals, is supported by guest-speaker panels, field trips, networking events, and more.
Workshops will take place at Carnegie Hall’s Resnick Education Wing in Manhattan (154 West 57th Street, New York, 10019).
You will receive a stipend for your participation.
Transportation and food are provided during the program.

They had such an amazing experience at Apple today. we are so proud of our DDA 11th Grade. They got so many compliments from the Apple instructors for their engagement and respect during our digital design workshop.
