WHAT: An upcoming in-person free Coding Bootcamp (8wks long) for students ages 14–24 will be offered. The program focuses on website development, giving participants hands-on experience creating their own websites and digital projects, as well as learning how to market their products online. Classes will take place at the Commonpoint Youth Opportunity Hub (82-17 Parsons Boulevard) starting December 1st. Classes are in-person on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 4:30pm- 6:00pm at 82-17 Parsons Blvd, Jamaica, NY 11432. Commitment for 8 weeks is necessary to join this program.

WHAT: As part of the Meeting the Moment initiative, NYCPS is launching a new Citywide Multicultural Student Coalition, an alliance of high schoolers who will engage their peers in meaningful conversations about culture, identity, and bridge-building. NYCPS is an alliance of students representing diverse backgrounds and cultures who will: 1) Participate in teamwork and leadership activities 2) Engage in bridge-building conversations (within the group and with other NYCPS students) 3) Visit schools to share their lived experiences with peers, providing opportunities for them to learn about and engage with a range of faiths, cultures, and identities. This coalition will be part of NYC Public Schools' Meeting the Moment initiative to foster safety and support for our entire community.
WHEN: Monthly group meetings after school, beginning in January 2026.

WHAT: College Now is a collaborative effort between the City University of New York (CUNY) and the New York City Department of Education (NYCDOE) to improve NYC public high school students’ academic achievement.
Through College Now, students become immersed in and inspired by Baruch campus life through visiting facilities and participating in academic, social, and cultural events. Interaction with our faculty and students provides College Now students with an authentic college experience. This eases the transition from high school to college and prepares students for a successful academic career.

WHAT: SEO Scholars closes the academic and opportunity gaps for motivated public high school students. Our free, eight-year program successfully educates and mentors students in New York City, San Francisco, North Carolina, and Miami to and through college – with an 85% college graduation rate. We propel human potential by identifying and admitting students who aim for a college degree, a fulfilling professional career, and a brighter future. We ensure students succeed by providing a rigorous academic foundation as part of our comprehensive college access, persistence, and success program. In high school, SEO Scholars receive 600+ hours of additional ELA and math instruction to close the academic and opportunity gap and graduate high school with the skills necessary to tackle college with confidence. Year after year, our Scholars match or exceed the national average SAT scores of all college-bound seniors. But it doesn’t end there. In their senior year of high school, we assist our Scholars with the college application and financial aid process, providing individualized support so that each student finds their perfect fit. The NYC High School Class of 2024 was awarded more than $6.7 million in financial aid and grants for their first year of college alone. As they move through college, we continue to provide academic advising, one-on-one psychosocial support, and personalized career development, so that our Scholars meet their academic and professional goals and succeed in life. As a result, our Scholars graduate from college ready to enter the working world or pursue higher education.
