WHAT: The New York City Center Externship Program introduces students and young adults, ages 14-18, to the many career options available to them in the arts; focusing on creative, technical, design, and administrative arts jobs. Utilizing breaks in the NYC public school year, each session is centered around in-depth, experiential seminars. Under the guidance of City Center staff and artists, participants will have opportunities to explore responsibilities and tasks for a variety of arts jobs and have a greater understanding of non-profit operations. Each program is free and includes daily lunch and complimentary tickets to a City Center production. Upon completition of each session, participants will leave with their own creative project materials.

WHO: 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th Graders AND Have an 85 average in Math and Science courses.
WHAT: The Fordham Science and Technology Entry Program (STEP) is an academic enrichment program designed to prepare underrepresented and economically disadvantaged junior high and high school students (grades 7-12) for college and careers in STEM fields (science, technology, engineering, and math) fields, health careers, and licensed professions, like accounting, law, psychology, social work among other licensed fields.
WHERE: The Summer Intensive is a fully live-remote program. Instruction takes place in our virtual classroom via Zoom and is highly engaging and interactive.
WHEN: The STEP Spring 2025 Program will be held from Saturday, February 15th - Saturday, April 26th, 2025.

WHO: High School students ages 14 - 19
WHAT: Cyphers for Justice is a youth and educator development program housed within the Edmund W. Gordon Institute for Urban and Minority Education (GIUME) at Columbia University, Teachers College, and the CUNY College Now Program at Queens College. CFJ apprentices NYC high school youth and educators as critical researchers through the use of hip hop, spoken word, digital literacy, and critical social research methods. Founded within the traditions of Youth Participatory Action Research and hip hop culture, CFJ youth work alongside Columbia University students, professors, and community-based teaching artists to conduct research and present their findings on relevant social issues.

WHEN: Once accepted, youth must commit to CFJ weekly workshops, which will take place on Fridays from 4:30pm-6:30pm from Friday, February 7 - June 6.
