FORDHAM SUMMER SESSION PRE-COLLEGE COURSES
WHO: High school Seniors with a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.0 (B)
WHAT: The Pre-College program is a selective program designed to provide rising high school seniors with experience, connections, and knowledge from their participation in one undergraduate college course alongside Fordham students. With online and in-person options, students in NY or around the world have the opportunity to experience a Fordham education. The classes in this section are specially selected for high school students and usually transfer easily to other universities. Five-week classes start July 2, 2024.

YOUTH FOOD ADVOCATES (YFA) (PAID)
WHO: Highschool Students
WHAT: Youth Food Advocates (YFA) is for young people who want to learn about social justice, public policy and advocacy, and are ready to create systemic change in New York City food systems, with a focus on school food.
YFA is action-oriented. Youth will:
Plan and facilitate meetings
Create and collect surveys
Speak and/or present at food justice events, rallies, and conferences
Create social media campaigns
Publish the YFA Newsletter
Talk to policy makers and school officials
Host guest speakers
Collaborate with school food staff
Interns receive an annual stipend $550. Amounts vary based on engagement, progress of actions, and attendance.

WHEN: From September through June, YFA interns meet weekly virtually and a minimum of four times in-person to plan, organize, and participate in campaign actions and coalition activities. Interns provide valuable expert input on the school food experience.

GATEWAY SPOTLIGHTS
Beat The Bomb is an immersive, real-life video game experience where teams of 4 to 6 people suit up in hazmat gear and race through a series of high-tech rooms to disarm a giant paint, foam, or slime bomb before the clock runs out.
