WHO: Highschool Students
WHAT: Exploring User Experience (UX) Design with Generative AI. What makes a software product easy to use and accessible? In this hands-on course, students will immerse themselves in the User Experience process - from needfinding, user research methods, design thinking, wireframing, and prototyping, to user testing and evaluation. Students will simultaneously tinker with generative AI tools not only to build their UX skills but also reflect on how these tools could shape their work. No previous programming or design experience required.
This non-credit course will be a great way for students to enter the worlds of design, software design, and high-tech fields.
The cost to students from low income households (free or reduced lunch) will be $50. ($320 for full tuition.)
Full tuition for the course is $320, but any student whose household income would qualify them for free or reduced lunch will be offered a reduced tuition of $50 for the entire semester.
WHEN: The course will meet for 10 Saturdays. The STEAM Lab classes will meet from 12:30-2:00 on Pratt's main campus, for 10 Saturdays beginning on February 15

WHAT: Pathfinders is CS4All’s internship offering that provides New York City high school students interested in pursuing computer science careers with their first workplace experience. The upcoming cohort will run from March 2025 to June 2025 for a total of 70 hours. Students will complete 60 hours of paid, hands-on industry work experience with host sites plus an additional 10 hours of MANDATORY work readiness and career preparation training (unpaid)**

WHAT: The 92NY Arts Fellows program is a transformative opportunity designed for high school students who demonstrate talent in and passion for music, dance, and visual arts. This comprehensive program spans four years, during which students will receive expert instruction at 92NY’s prestigious Gilda and Henry Block School of the Arts. Students accepted into the Arts Fellows program will benefit from fully subsidized classes in their chosen artistic discipline, along with invaluable one-on-one mentorship opportunities.
The Art Fellows program represents 92NY’s dedication to nurturing the next generation of artistic talent, making high-quality arts education accessible, and ensuring that the legacy of creativity continues to flourish in our community.
In fall 2024, the Arts Fellows program is accepting applications from students in Grades 9 and 10. To be considered for the program, applicants must provide a letter of recommendation from a teacher or mentor and share a portfolio of their work. Please see the application for more details.

WHO: Current high school juniors and seniors are eligible to apply
WHAT: Bank of America selects about 300 driven high school students from over 100 diverse communities for this is a prestigious, competitive program. It aims to encourage students’ community-mindedness, offering opportunities and training to those passionate about positively impacting their communities. Once selected, you will be placed at a local nonprofit organization near you, where you will learn about the various aspects of running such an organization, engage in community service projects, and develop a deeper understanding of social issues, you will simultaneously work on skills that will aid in your future academics and career, such as leadership and community skills.
You will engage in real-world projects and assignments related to financial analysis and community leadership, applying classroom knowledge to practical situations. The internship includes a week-long Student Leadership Summit held in Washington, DC. The travel, food, and stay will be covered by the bank. You will get to network with and learn from professionals during this summit!
WHEN: 8-week summer internship, including an all-expenses-covered week-long Student Leadership Summit in Washington, DC. Dates vary by location, but the internship usually begins shortly after the school year ends.

WORK ZONE SAFETY BILLBOARD DESIGN COMPETITION (PAID)
WHO: Highschool Students
WHAT: National Work Zone Awareness Week brings national attention to motorist, pedestrian, cyclist and worker safety and mobility issues in work zones. At NYC DOT, safety is our top priority, particularly when it comes to our workforce who provide the essential public-service of repairing and maintaining transportation infrastructure, specifically roads and sidewalks. Students have a chance to hone their graphic design skills and creativity, be a part of a professional-level media campaign, and win a cash prize for their schools. The first-place winning design will debut on a large-scale billboard as part of New York City’s recognition of National Work Zone Awareness week in April 2025.
The first-place winner will receive $1,000, the second-place winner will receive $750, and the third-place winner will receive $500 for each student’s respective school.

UAG Students visit brooklyn college To gain a firsthand experience of a college campus, allowing prospective students to assess if the environment, academics, student life, and overall feel of the school aligns with their interests and goals
