ਨਾ ਕੋਈ ਹਿੰਦੂ, ਨਾ ਮੁਸਲਮਾਨ
ਪੱਛਮ 'ਚੋਂ ਸੂਰਜ ਚੜ੍ਹਿਆ -
ਰਹਸਮਈ ਬੇਈਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ -
ਇੱਕ ਸਦਾ ਉੱਠੀ -
'ਨਾ ਕੋਈ ਹਿੰਦੂ, ਨਾ ਮੁਸਲਮਾਨ।'
ਇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਿੰਨਾ ਸੱਚ ਤੇ ਕਿੰਨੀ ਜਾਨ !
ਜੇ ਸਭ ਕੋਈ ਇਸਨੂੰ ਸਮਝੇ ਤੇ ਜਾਣੇ
ਤਾਂ ਧਰਤੀ ਤੋਂ ਸਭ ਦੁੱਖ ਦਰਦ ਮਿਟ ਜਾਣ
ਨਾ ਕਿਤੇ ਮਜ਼ਹਬੀ ਦੰਗੇ ਹੋਣ
ਨਾ ਨਿਰਦੋਸ਼ਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਜਾਨਾਂ ਜਾਣ
ਬਾਬੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇ ਸੁਪਨੇ ਫਿਰ ਸੱਚ ਹੋ ਜਾਣ !

No one is Hindu or Muslim
A Sun rose from the west.
A voice echoed from the mystic river.
'No one is Hindu or Muslim!'
'We all are children of one God!'
How true is that!
If everybody understands it -
All pain and suffering will vanish!
There will be no more atrocities on the Earth!
Innocent people will not be killed in the name of the religion!
And Guru Nanak's dream will come true!

One morning Guru Nanak went to the bein river for his daily bath and meditation, but he didn't come out of the river. People thought he drowned in the river; divers couldn't find him. Legend has it that he was gone for three days, but then he emerged from the river with enlightenment on the fourth day! He said - 'No one is Hindu or Muslim! We all are children of one God!'. He understood God's will, and with his childhood friend Mardana, who was also a musician, he traveled the world to spread this message of universal brotherhood. We all are children of one God!
