Cheeseburger Stuffed Mushrooms

Makes approximately 16 stuffed mushrooms

Directions

Brush away any dirt that is on the mushrooms. Remove and chop the stems. Heat the oil in a medium-sized frying pan over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and 1/2 cup of the mushroom stems. Cook until they begin to soften, about two minutes. Add the garlic and a little salt and pepper. Cook for another two minutes. Set aside to cool.

Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F and grease a baking sheet. In a small bowl, combine the ground beef, onion mixture and a couple of shakes of Worcestershire sauce. Add a pinch or two of salt and pepper.

Fill each mushroom cap with the beef mixture and place on the baking sheet. Cook on the middle rack of your preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, until well-browned. Top each mushroom with chopped pickle and the shredded cheese. Return to the oven for three to five minutes, until the cheese has melted. Serve hot.
