Description:
This spell opens up an area to the chaotic energies of strange dimensions, twisting and mutating those within. This is a very powerful and dangerous form of Sorcery. All targets within the Pandemonic Maelstrom take 1D12 damage, plus 1D12 more damage for every three levels of the caster and must make a Fortitude save or receive 1D4 random mutation. Unlike most other spells, just failing the casting of this spell has some consequences.
Casting Failure by 5 or less: Sorcerer gains one random mutation.
Casting Failure by 6 to 10: Sorcerer gains one random mutation & an insanity at level 3D6.
Casting Failure by 11 to 15: Sorcerer gains two random mutation & two insanity at level 4D6 each.

Critical Success: Targets take double damage and are -4 to their saving throws. If failed, they receive 2D4 random negative mutations as well as 1D4 random insanities at level 3D4 each.

Critical Fumble: Sorcerer is center of the effect, area effect & damage is doubled. Sorcerer receives 2D4 random negative mutations if he/she survives the damage as well as 1D4 random insanities at level 3D4 each. (Sorcerer does not get save to avoid mutations.) All others in range are at -3 to save. If failed receive 1D6 random mutations.
