Hit Points & Negative Hit Points:
* When a character takes more than half of his/her maximum hit points in a single attack, have the character roll on the Excessive Damage Threshold Chart.
* At zero hit points the character is considered unconscious. He/she can attempt a Fortitude check to stay awake, but is -5 to Initiative, Attacks, Skills and enemies get a +3 to hit you. If you go below zero hit points you are either unconscious or dead, depending on your maximum negative hit points.
* Characters have Negative Hit Points of their CON score. Past this point in damage the character is dead.
* When a character is negative hit points but still alive, he/she must make a Fortitude save each melee round that he/she is not medically tended to or they lose another hit point each following melee round until dead. Some exceptions apply based on race and abilities.
* Any character that goes negative hit points and recovers must roll on the Near Death Experience Chart and the Excessive Damage Threshold Charts.
