Match report v Yacht (Home)

Our first game for 2nd half season was upon us. And yacht were first up. Could we repeat the 7-2 away win we recorded first game of season..

Wobbly played first and lost to Gary like we did earlier this season!

Captain Power up second playing a new player Jack from yacht. A missed black position and pot looked bad news for Power. But some good escapes and too negative play by jack, led to a Power victory.. Can no one in this league beat the mighty power? 9 out of 9 wins for him..

Moppy up next nad made short work of Jack 2 from Yacht. Mop left all of his opponents reds on the table when he potted the black to the middle.

2-1 up

Omens looked good for another 7-2 victory. As it was panning out the same as earlier in the season with a loss first and 5 single wins.

Rocket up next, and a dry break from thee rocket left the table open and John Swales looked for game.. He potted well and got a long black which he missed. Rocket tried some snookers to promote some balls, but a great escape and black pot to middle finished the game for a win to John.

2-2

John up next to a another good new potter Gary. It looked curtains for John when Gary got down to a long black. But a black missed again by a yacht player left John in prime position. Who cleared well when given two shots.

3-2

Glen up next and another attacking start this time by Mark from Yacht. Glen on back foot, but he promptly turned it around and won well.

4-2

A good result, but was this the same yacht we all know and love??? They tried to go for game without snookering 20 times?? I'm all up for the change though.

CP/Rocket doubles started masters8ers quest for the elusive 5 frame and night win. CP was in no mood to mess about, and after given a possible shot at win he took it out well.

Mop/John played Gary/John pairing which looked a good match up. A good game which led to mop gaoing for a tough clearance, he got down to a tough middle black pot to win, which didn't drop. Gary in attacking mode took out the finish, which was not an easy clearance including a reverse cross double to pot black.

5-3

All looked down and gone for doubles pairing Wobbly/OSW. But failed black position didn't leave a pot for yacht pairing. And OSW followed Gary's example and just went for the win and got it.

Result: 6:3 win. A great result for us and probably a fair result. If the Yacht took their black chances first it might of been a loss for us, but we took our chances when we got them with no mistakes.
