Match Report v Red Barn (home)

Post date: Apr 8, 2009 9:15:46 AM

Just one last match to finish off to finish the league season . A re-arranged red barn game

We needed to reach 6 frames to pass royal Oak to 4th spot

All things started brightly, Pinkie & Wobbly winning their games, Mop burst on the scence in the third frame and almost took a dish out, just missed a tough black. He won the game a couple of shots later

John continued the winning streak by dispatching the lovely Sunet. Keith i mean Rocket was up next and was unlucky to lose to his oppoenent after he pulled out a good double black. 4-1

Glen up last and he needed a win to match mop's 12 win over league season to go into Karen Miles Memorial Trophy Qualifiers. He had Red Barns best player Danny to beat. Middle game was very scrappy with both players potting the spotted white ball several times! But Glen pulled out an excellent clearence which included a lovely off the cushion pot to leave the black which he dispatched.

At 9:30 we had finished the singles which must be a record time!

Doubles was unevenful until the last game! Keith/Rocket won their game, mop/pinkie lost.

Last game saw the Red barn getting down to a long straight black. A great long shot saw the black go down, game won.. but no.. the black had other ideas, it popped back up out the pocket, jumped up a good foot up in the air and landed back in the middle of the table to the shock of the watching crowd! Wobbly accepted the act of god and pulled off a good clearence, this time the black accepted its fate and stayed down!!

Result: 7-2 Should of been 6-3 but Great Harrys new star played God made an appearence. I wonder if i can get him signed up for the summer league???

Shot of night: Several good shots but Glens off the cushion pot just took the prize.
