Match Report v Running Horses

Post date: Dec 17, 2010 11:02:10 AM

Return match time as half way through season so Running Horses up as they were our first game of the season

The travel of about 300m must of been too far for some of their players. They only turned up with 4, so a free win per set for us.

But was a very poor first set with one highlight for Erith Snooker...

Steve up first, and he was on for a good dish. All he needed to do was pot last yellow and free the black, he manged to free the black but failed in the pot.. This left Dean to clear for Running Horses.

Up next in form Rocket, things were looking bleak as he was losing control of the table..He was left in this position as yellows with one shot..

But then a bit of Rocket magic! His first shot he reverse cross doubled the yellow to carom in/off the middle off the red. This freed up the middle yellows which he potted in same pocket leaving a double on last cushioned yellow. He put this in the same middle! and next shot the black was there too! If Gary Lineker was running 'clearence of the season' this would be up there!

Out of sorts OSW and Wobbly did not impress with their first frames of the night both missing several chances. Moppy got a win without coming to the table as he played the missing person. 2:3 down not a great start!

But inspired by Rockets impressive clearence the Master8ers stepped it up a few gears.. Winning the last 10 frames in a row! Moppy almost pulled off great dish on his first visit to the table v Dean, but failed to break out last yellow after a few attempts at it. And OSW,Steve and Wobbly all found their potting range with some good play to win theirs.

Result: A slow start but great finish. 12:3 with Rocket and Moppy taking the glory with 3 out of 3's. And everyone else having a good 2 out of 3 night.
