So the new season gets underway
With the pool gods creating the fixtures so it was the same as the last game of last season. We got to play the Halfway house again @ home. It was going to be a tight game to start. It cant be as bad as 0-9 like we started last season v Railway boys!
Starting 6 of season had to be picked. So the name that was picked out the hat didn't start the singles. The unlucky person who got ippy dippied to the doubles was Glen. You know what they say, unlucky at pool, lucky in love
Pinkie up first and a tatical game ensued, when push come to shove a bad shot and an unlocky loss of the white was pinkies down fall. 0-1
Mop up next and had first shot @ the black with a cheeky cocked hat shot missed though :( The mop snooked, his escape led to the white going down and game was gone. 0-2 to halfway</p>
Rocket Ryan played the might Bert next. Rocket came out all guns firing with some great pots and positional play to get down to the black, but he couldn't finish. Bert the master of tactics then took the game back to halfway. 0-3 was a 0-9 start on the cards again
John stopped the rot with a win, Wobbly honorably owned up to a foul that no one else saw, and he eventually lost too.
Last singles involved 2 battles in 1
1st was on the dress sense
Halfway house came out with a immaculately turned out oufit of:
Some corded brown trousers, tight fitting white tshirt and a matching brown tanktop. He would not of looked out of place walking down a stylish italian boulevard.
Keith turned out in black trainers, knee length dark shorts and a blue postal shirt 4 sizes too big! He would not of looked out of place at a postal depot.
To be fair he was going to work afterwards!
Halway house win the style battle, luckily it was the pool that counted on the night! And keith showed why last year he didnt get beaten much. A Keith pool win making it 2-4 to Halfway
Doubles our favourite sport! Not
Pinikie/Glen failed to deliver. Night lost! Say no more
John/Keith doubles had John missing an easy black which then led to them losing the game. A bit of ruckus afterwards with basically sour grapes from John. He was complaining someone was talking in the crowd! John this is a pub and there was no problems from the halfway house lot. John you missed the black no one eles fault. Sorry halfway house guys just John being a sore loser!. He will be repriminded!
Mop/wobbly brought up the rear!! with a good long pot on the black from mop to salvage a little pride at the end. (WIth rear,pride & end that is one gay sentence! )
Final score 3-6 to Halfway House. Well played Halfway, we will be ready for the rematch though
