Match report v railway boys A

Post date: Nov 10, 2010 3:03:44 PM

New team to play in league as they won the league 2 last season. Although we did play them last season. They beat us in first round of team KO! I don't forget and we needed revenge

Wobbly started the precedings off as he was playing well in practice. But when the pressure was on, he cracked like a badly made subrmarine! But luckily the other side had a badly made submarine too, as he missed a simple black to middle leaving Wobbly the game.

Rocket up next and it was a close game a few half chances went missing before the Railway guy managed to fall over the finishing line first. Also removing Rockets 100% wins in singles

Luckily we had another 100 percenter in back up. Captin Power and he played a less than solid game, but still came away with the win and 100% record intact!

Mop up next and played a tight safety game. Was in control of black pocket with a covered bag. But he didn't count for the fluke of three cushions and 2 balls to pot the black in opposite corner! Billy win for the Railway

John was on fire, geting 2 shots on his second visit he promptly went round and cleared all his colours but failed on a straight black! Luckily he only had to wait one miss later and he got another go .3 - 2 to us

Glen looked to be cruising with 2 visiits was potting all his colours. 2 left on the black. And he did a Posite! Missed with both shots and left it in pocket! Is it catching? I hope not. we might need jabs! Luckily he got another shot at it when railway guy missed his last ball pot

4-2 up after singles probably a fair result.

Wobbly/Posite partnership was plagued with confidence. After railway missed several half chances, they gave 2 shots away with just one yellow and black in middle to go. Surely Postie could right the wrongs of the 2 shots black miss v the Oak.No he could go one further by not even getting down to black with 2 shots! game lost

John/Glen win secured the night with a close thought doubles game.

Captain Power/Mop closed out the night with a good finish by kamikazee Captian Power who thought it was too late for tactics, and tried to pot every ball off the table in one visit.Luckily he got another visit and potted a good black to win.

Result: 6-3 was a good win and closes the gap to 4 on the Oak who lost away to the Halfway House
