Match report v Royal Oak

Post date: Oct 20, 2010 10:46:57 AM

Top two teams in the league met at at Erith Snooker. In fact all unbeaten teams in early season were there. As Belmont Snooker played out a 5-4 win v the Erith C team on the other table.

As for Master8ers v Oak, Captain Power was present but a back injury forced him to the sidelines.

Game started with a tactical frame for Phil v Wobbly. 1-0 Oak as Phil took the victory

Mop played Paul Clements. It was an open table at the start but it soon got pockets covered, and covered pockets covered with other balls! Paul saw a half chance and went for it but he could not take it. In this ruleset a missed chance is normally a missed game and this was the case as Mop controlled the finish to take the win.

Rocket up next and he is not missing much at the moment! And the same in this game, as soon as he got half a chance he took it. 2-1 Master8ers

John up and it would be the most attacking game of the night. Break potted and left john with game. Was unable to clear and gave 2 shots on a missed escape from his last ball snooker .Game to Mike but only after he had to finish on a double black after a bad positional shot.

Glen v John Cochrane. Slow game where John didn't want to take any chances. Game swung a little to Glen with black being covered by Glens yellows. But John finished with another double black when he was forced too. 3-2 Oak

Keith v JK next. After an-off from JK, Keith looked to have the game as he got to an open black with 2 shots.. But missed both! leaving JK to clear his colours. But this also had to involve a double after a missed posional shot on last colour. He managed this as well to take game. 4-2

Doubles. Keith/Rocket looked to have the game in their pocket.. But failed to make the black offering the win to Oak. 5-3

Oak looked ot be cruising as Paul C/Mike beat a mop/wobbly in an open game.

And final doubles game. Johns heart was not in it. He gave foul after foul, but it still came down to the wire. But a missed cut by OSW left an easy black to Oak

Results: 7:2 a poor result for us, probably should off had a closer scoreline. But Oak players took all their finished and doubles well! We need to regroup and hopefully have some easier games to get some points on the board again. Its a long season
