Match Report versus Crayford social (home)

Post date: Jan 21, 2009 11:30:10 AM

Home match with a new set of pool balls for the Harry team. Crayford Social our opponents who are a very good side, but we have had a good record against them lately for some reason.

Mop up first against Sam. A good break by Sam then a couple of balls potted but was unlucky to clip in one of mops yellow to give a foul away. Mop gets to the table, uses his 2 shots to clear all the yellows and leaves a very pottable black which he misses! Sam takes his chance well to win on his second visit.

Pinkie up next and blows his oppoent away in style, seven opponent balls left on table after he clears a good black. Standard of play is high form both sides so far.

Rocket up next and was battling the whole game due to covered pockets and loses without a sniff of a chance.

John, Glen and Wobbly then win their singles. John and Wobbly have a couple of lucky rolls of the table but it shouldn't take it away from their good play to win

A good 4-2 singles start and great attacking play from both sides.

John/Keith in doubles. With John getting 2 shots and clearence on, he back spins in the middle to ultimately lose the game

Mop/Pinkie up next. Mop breaks nothing down, Crayford then pot a few and cover a pocket. Up steps Pinkie with a stunning seven ball clearence that didnt look possible to take the night win in style. The second guy from the Crayford pairs didn't even get a shot in the game. Pinkie is back!!!

Glen/Wobbly in last pairs. Glen get down to black and has an easy pot to make a great night win, but he fails to get it and Crayford take the last game.

Result Another 5-4 to Harry over Crayford. One of the highest standards of pool games I had seen played by both sides in Tuesday league pool night. Crayford social played really well and good attacking pool.

Shot of the night: Many to chose from! But Pinkies pot and promotion of a tucked up ball in his seven ball clearence takes the prize
