Match Report v Rileys Woolwich home

This was a tale of what happens when you miss your chances v very good players.

First set all 5 managed to carve out chances which can be very hard when playing the calibre of hte league champions. But all 5 frames were still lost on the first set. The finishing of a pool game is the required skill at this level. We were found wanting.

New boy Steve Heather played 6th and showed us how it was done when he got his chance. He put on the first point on the board for the master8ers, this was closely followed by Wobbly in the next frame when he beat George.

Moppy fell foul to the finshing bug too and are mini break was done. John and OSW didnt get a win either. Although all OSW did was break and Tony Halpin finished the table in excellent form.

Last set the only winner for master8ers was Master Blaster, with OSW too drunk to play, Heather getting beaten by an excellent clearence from and on form Halpin, and Moppy failing to finish off the black after a good clearence on his colours.

Result: 3:12 the first set sealed our fate v the league champions. We need to improve our finishing if we want to stay in this league.
