Match Report v Hotshots (home)

Post date: May 15, 2009 11:55:04 AM

A quite surreal night as about 100 millwall fans decided to take root in the pub to watch the League Two promotion play-offs. It was just like being on the terraces of the New Den with the chanting!

We thought we would be ready for the Hotshots after sneaking a win at the Fenman earlier in the week. But we were wrong!

First set. Hotshot came out flying. Chris Synman not missing a shot in the first and finished on his 2nd visit versus Pinkie.

Rocket was gifted 2 shots with open balls but failed to capitilze like he did on Tuesday. 0-2

Rod did not let One Season Wonder to the table as he broke and dished with some exquisite shot-making 0-3 (set lost)

John got his first win v Rob Chamlers after an uncharacteristic miss by Rob leaving John a chance which he took 1-3

Mop played Steve K as he always does! A bad positional shot and missed escape on black left mop with 2 shots and easy clearence. Mop decided to gire 2 shots back with an in/off! 1-4

Second set was better with it going 2-2 after 4 with Kev and Wobbly winning theirs

Mop up last again v Steve K. Both side had half chances. But a snooker that just didnt touch the cushion by Mop, allowed an easy clearnce for Steve to take set. A missed chance there to take a set of hotshots!

Last set was all Hotshots with them taking all 5 with the dogs heads all down now. We had chances in them (well not v Rod Altes. He won all 3 of his games in 4 visits to the table!)

Hot shots in action..

Result: 3:12

Verdict: Wake up call for Dogs. but with some WR rules experience under our belts we should give them a better match on the return leg.

Man of the Match: (football chant)There is only one Rod Altes... Head and shoulder above everyone else on show. Positonal play was just outstanding!
