Match Report v Jolly Fenman (home)

Post date: Jun 26, 2009 12:53:51 PM

Another home game and trying to make it 4 wins in a row!

Jolly Fenman came in force with a full squad. They told us this was the first time this had happenend this season.. Lucky us!

First set was not good for the dogs. Three loses at the start from Pinkie, Mop and John.. Some good shots from OSW brought our first win. With Wobbly losing the last for a 1-4 loss in first set.

Second set was worse! Not a single win, the Jolly Fenman were turning on the style, with Tony Halpin and Richie producing a lovely array of shots to win their games easily. Not a single win although Rocket could feel hard done as George beat him with a long black treble which he could not of gone for! 0-5

Still the 3 set system allows for us still to get a point even though we were 1-9 down in frames!!

So a dogs regroup and team rally call and we were ready for the third set. And news of Micheal Jackson demise was making it round the table... With the aid of tweets, facebook and mobile internet!

3rd Set was started to the music of MJ predictable enough!!

Wobbly played Richie. But could Wobbly Beat It, no Richie was unbeatable. 0-1

John played Paul D. John pulled off a good win he was Dangerous. 1-1

Rocket put right his loss of earlier, as he beat Goerge on second match up. You could say Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough.. (sorry I Can't Help It)

This left us 2-1 up in last set! 1 more for a shock point!

OSW up versus the Tony Halpin from Fenman. Tony was having none of dogs revival, and he could of potted balls Off The Wall. Game Tony 2-2

A last frame Thriller for last point. Mop to play Terry Mitchell

Terry broke, nothing down.. Mop being such a Smooth Criminal then went round and mopped the balls up for a good dish to take the game in his first visit..

Last set 3-2 and a point! wehey

Result: Loss of 1-2 sets and 4-11 frames!

Verdict : A full squad from Jolly Fenman is a tough test and we were lucky to escape with a point.

MOM: Tony Halpin didn't play a bad shot and looked unbeatable on the night.
