Match report v Rileys A

Post date: Jan 6, 2012 2:05:57 PM

After our 3-12 smashing at their place we knew we needed to play well to get some much needed points in this fixture!

It didn't bode well when Captain Power, Blaster and OSW lost the first three. OSW only gtting one shot as 'Lobster Coppen' cleared a tidy dish.

We needed a spark and Wobbly provided it getting our first frame on the board with a nervy finish. Mop controlled his game in his normal tactical fashion to bring it back to 3-2 at the end of the first set

Wobbly couldnt find the spark at the start of the second set v Joe Kane but the rest of the master8ers did. Producing a good 4-1 set win and leading the match coming into the final set. 6-4

Lobster wasnt going to be beaten a second time as he potted a fine black to beat CP.

The unbeaten pairing of Joe Kane and Mop drew cues in the last set to see who would come out with the unbeaten mantle for the night. Mop just edged past the finish line but he had missed a simple black on the way that really should of cost him the frame.

7-5 up just one more win for the night win.

But Tony Gear was on form to speed past Blaster. 7-6

OSW was pissed so could not pot. 7-7

And Wobbly lost the decider to Gary 7-8

Result: 7:8. Some good performances during the night and probably a fair reflection of the nights play in general. We don't mind taking 7 valuable points of that fixture.
