Match report v Oak

(report by Captain Power as if he was Moppy )

Well here it is again, the most eagerley awaited fixture of the pool calendar, a trip to The Oak.

First up, the stand-in Captain. The usual result against a very average Jon Kinsville.

Unfortunately this was to be the high point of the first four games.

Next up was the Wobbler against an on-fire Mr Clements, his one contribution was a dry break.

The Rocket had chances against Phil who was on a run of 5 losses, but couldn't take them and Phil cleared well to make it 1-2.

Jon's game against Mike was evenly matched with Mr Mander taking the spoils to make it 1-3.

Obviously if I'd been there it would have been 3-1 to us, since I'm the most feared man on the English pool circuit and everyone lives in fear of my deadly blacks to the middle!!!

Back to the match - OSW up next against Jon MkII, who pots a good back double last yellow, only to come round 3 cushions and up snookered on the black.

He missed his escape and the slim one cleared, 2-3.

Keith next versus the man who is allergic to everything and has been told he must live in a sellophane coccoon for the rest of his natural.

This lasted about 2 mins before Keith potted the black (before any of his other balls)

How much abuse............................

2-4 and on to the doubles.

Stand-in Captain avoided any arguments by playing people with who they actually wanted to play with :)

Apart from himself who ended up with the postman, postie broke and while The Power was putting his cue together Mr Clements again cleared in one visit.

It was nice to watch.

The next two were fairly uneventful with Jon/Glen winning and Ryan/Wobbly losing (I think).

3-6 was probably a fair reflection of play.

Player of the night: Mr Clements

Pleb of the night: The bar-maid trying to persuade people that last orders was at 10:53 because she wanted to get home early
