Match Report v Crayford Social

Post date: Mar 2, 2011 5:03:32 PM

A new look team appeared through the doors of Erith Snooker.

Captain Anthony, Steve and Sam the same. But the rest were unknowns to us :)

And its normally a tough game v Crayford Social.

Captain Power up first, and he banished his last league loss at Village inn with a good performance v Sam. Putting away a good black

Moppy got to play one of the new players Steve. Who looked a very capable potter in practice. Steve broke and potted and potted one more before losing position. Mop decided attack was the best defence and cleared from a tough position. One visit pool :)

2-0. Crayford were a little shell shocked. Rocket played attacking but just couldn’t get to last colour to pot. Normal old rules snooker escape routine. Rocket defended well but slipped up once and it was curtains to another new (but obviously seasoned league pool) player Vince.

The Wobbly v Anthony game turned on a white ot the middle from Anthony. Leaving wobbly a clearance which he took well.

Man Who Cant be Mentioned (MWCBM) potted a good double black to take a close battle.

4-1

Could OSW make it 5? Well he had enough chances about 3 glorious ones? The other guy almost packed his cue away twice they were that easy.. But no OSW didn’t want them. Tom took the win for Crayford.

4-2

A Rocket/OSW pairing up first. Steve for Crayford got down to black first but failed to pot it. A few safety shots later by Rocket/OSW, and OSW cleared to make up for his previous loss. Well almost..

5-2

MWCBM/Wobbly got stuck on last ball and lost

And inform pairing of Mop/Power got beaten by Vince/Sam. Vince failed to pot the black after he fluked his last colour and got lucky getting the black out! But Mop failed to take an easy clearance after this by losing the white to a middle pocket.. Careless play, can he blame the beer? Maybe just a little :) But no beer pool would be a sad place to be...

Result: 5-4. Crayford social admitted they got well beaten at the end of the night. But the score didn't show this. They have a good side and will probably upset a few teams in the 2nd half the season. Oak next and continuing the winning streak would be very beneficial to our league title ambitions.. With Oak, Crayford, Yacht losing this week, it looks like a 2 horse race between Village Inn and Erith D. But it's a long way to go yet
