The Remains of Design

This essay examines what remains of the term Design after its original definitions and entomology have been examined and extended to allow for current language forms, evolution, physics, and human sensory neurology.

Definitions of Design

The definitions infer a previous, known, named, object existed before Design occurs.

The input into Design must come from previous sensory input.

The origin of all sensory input is the Universe.

The Universe is the Absolute. The origin of all things.

Therefore the definitions of Design infer that the laws governing the sensory interaction between Design and the Universe will be The Theory of Relativity and Quantum Mechanics.

The nature of the human interaction with the Universe requires that the interaction between Design and the Universe will always be sensed in the past; due to the maximum speed of light in a pure vacuum, the varying distances of space time, the expansion of space and the time it takes a human to process sensory input from the Universe.

The definitions infer an evolutionary process. A process of gradual, random, alteration through heritable characteristics from previous forms. This process is tested through natural selection of those forms that survive in the environment and reproduce.

The definitions infer a randomness, a lack of predictability, a lack of sequence, a lack of purpose, a lack of pattern to the Universal, evolutionary, process that is the opposite of deliberate planned response of Design.

The Remains of Design

The Universe is known to be a quantum probability driven, uncertain, expanding, random evolution of form. It is subject to chance, previous conditions and natural selection of random; events. It has no definite purpose or aim. It is directionless and without conscious choice.

It has quantum and general laws and events that have constantly varying probability, interaction and entanglement.

It is a process moving from simplicity, a singularity, order, arrangement and pattern to entropy, to complexity and complete randomness.

Design is a human sensory dependant, evolutionary developed skill that purports to allow humans to take control over the whole Universe process and adapt its evolution to their own survival needs, values, qualities, appreciations of beauty, cultures and societies.

Design is however fundamentally dependant on the previous random state and random mutation of any system from which it can force evolution and natural selection to occur to produce optimised solutions for human society.

If all previous states and mutations are random at a quantum or general level then Design cannot be used as a tool to evolve them. It will only manage to randomly alter any forms probability of re-occurring.

The use of previous materials, methods, values, economics, human laws, environments, weather constraints, boundary constraints, beliefs, morals, myths, signs and symbols also constricts Design to the reproduction of the past of humanity in order to prolong survival.

Design is not natural selection. It is not a natural process. It is a desperate human response to random temporary situations.

Design also attempts to force previous random events occurring outside sensory input to reduce in entropy and become ordered, arranged and patterned in relation to each other.

This develops the nature of Design from a desperate human attempt to control parts of a fundamentally random process into a human conceit that they can control the whole process.

The remains of the term Design after its original definitions and entomology have been examined and extended to allow for current language forms, evolution, physics, and human sensory neurology is to regard it as a human delusion.

Design can only produce probability solutions to out of date states of the Universe or anything it is applied to. Design was, is, will be an out of date tool for humans, a desperate, constrained, response to random past events.
