Article 202 - The Brain as an Energy Delaying Mechanism

The Brain as an Energy Delaying Mechanism

This essay examines if the human brain can be considered as an intelligent organ or as an evolved delaying mechanism. It examines definitions of unconscious and conscious and proposes an alternative method of estimating both terms. Conclusions are then drawn.

Unconscious and Conscious Definitions

“How much of your brain’s activity are you actually aware of? Do you know everything that it’s up to, or are there some brain processes going on outside of awareness? You may be surprised to learn that some neuroscientists, such as Michael Gazzaniga, estimate that as much as 98 percent or more of all brain activity is completely unconscious.”

”An enormous portion of cognitive activity is non-conscious, figuratively speaking, it could be 99 percent; we probably will never know precisely how much is outside awareness.” (Dr. Emmanuel Donchin, director of the Laboratory for Cognitive Psychophysiology at the University of Illinois).”

‘In the new paper published in the journal Behavioral and Brain Sciences, associate professor of psychology at San Francisco State University Ezequiel Morsella posits just that in what he calls the “Passive Frame Theory.” Morsella suggests that the conscious does not do nearly as much as we thought. In fact, conscious thought is just a small fraction of what is happening in the brain. Instead, it is the unconscious that is doing everything for us, and we are completely unaware of it.’

An Alternative Method of Estimation.

The percentage of unconscious and conscious is very difficult to define from these definitions.

An alternative method of estimating unconscious and conscious activity would be to see the environment and the human at the same scale and establish their interaction and entanglement in terms of energy levels.

Unconscious and Conscious as Energy Levels.

If the relative energy levels of the environment, human and human brain are established and compared.

Environment

Assuming the environmental potential energy consist of solar energy, wind energy, wave energy, geothermal, biomass, animals, plants - photosynthesis and humans.

The total collectable potential energy from the Earth can be established as 20 kw /hr/ m2 /person based on 2013 population numbers. 20,000 watts/m2.

Allowing 20,000 w/m2 potential environmental energy.

Allowing for a human being to be approx.1.9 m2 in body surface area.

Source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Body_surface_area

Allows for 38,000 watts of potential environmental energy over the body surface area of a human being available to power a human being.

Human Body

Allowing for the calorific intake of a human to be between and 5.42 and 11.0 MJ, 1295 to 2629 kilocalories per day, 62.75 watts / day to power a human being.

Brain

‘a typical adult human brain runs on around 12 watts.’

‘It is well established that the brain uses more energy than any other human organ, accounting for up to 20 percent of the body's total haul.’

Conclusions

If the potential environmental input into a human being is a constant 38,000 watts and a human uses only 62.75 watts of this then a human is sensory ‘unconscious’ of 99.835% of the total potential environmental energy passing through its senses. It is sensory ‘conscious’ of only 0.165% of the total potential energy it exist in.

If a single human brain is considered then only 20 percent of the 62.75 watts, 12 watts is used.

Therefore a human brain is 'unconscious' of 99.968% of the total potential environmental energy passing through it. It is ‘conscious’ of only 0.0316% of the total potential energy it exists in.

These percentages correlate with the earlier estimates.

These percentages correlate with the earlier estimations. The redefinition of ‘unconscious’ and ‘conscious’ in terms of energy levels allows other terms to be examined and re-defined in the same manner.

Constant Input

The input of environmental energy, its sensory intake, its processing in the brain and responses to it are all constant.

The environmental energy; as sensed by human beings, as processed in the human brain and as responses; can be considered as electromagnetic in origin.

The environmental energy involved can be related to the maximum speed of light in a pure vacuum over varying distances and densities.

Holograms of Past Events

Due to varying distance and the constant speed of light in a pure vacuum and the varying speed of light due to refraction the environmental energy interacts with the human being as interference patterns of energy, holograms of past events.

The human can only process the constant energy input in terms of ‘what was’ and respond to it through a delay.

Thinking

A re-definition of ‘thinking’ may be arrived at.

‘Thinking’ is the variance between the constant electromagnetic energy input.

A ‘thought’ is a delay of energy in a constant stream of electromagnetic energy input.

This delay has a quantum correspondence related to the uncertainty principle and probability.

The Brain

The brain can now be re-defined as a network of delays.

It takes the constant input of multiple energy variations and then decodes them by delaying their input This allows the environmental energy to be analysed, overlapped, ordered, arranged, sequenced into patterns of priority, and repetition.

Once ordered the energy patterns are passed to output areas in and on the human envelope.

The envelope then responds to the environment.

Communication

To enhance the delay process and optimise the ordering of the constant environmental input humans have developed communications between their envelopes.

Communication introduces further overlapping delays and so responses from multiple locations.

One human connects to another to re-order their own environmental energy input.

Communication can therefore be re-defined as re-ordering of constant energy input.

This allows another way of defining ‘knowledge’.

Knowledge

Knowledge can be re-defined as constant environmental energy input links to a delayed individual sensory input to an individual delay system to a delayed individual response system that is re-ordered; communicated; to multiple delayed sensory systems to multiple delayed ordering systems to multiple delayed response systems to produce multiple response to the environment.

Knowledge is a process that constantly optimises the relationship between the constant environmental energy and the human energy use to allow the total environmental energy to be ordered and agreed as a ‘Consensus Gentium’.

The ‘Consensus Gentium’

Thinking, Communication and Knowledge produce a ‘Consensus Gentium’ of the ‘true’ status of the environment; in the past; to ensure continuing human survival.

At a quantum level the universe is increasing entropy and so a decreasing pattern.

Source: https://sites.google.com/site/architecturearticles/home/article-198-the-architecture-of-fields

Other density patterns of the universe; humans, life; interact and entangle with the universal probability density and reduced its randomness, uncertainty, entropy through delay of electromagnetic energy until it increases in pattern or forms a previously repeated pattern.

The human brain is therefore not an intelligent organ it is an evolved delaying mechanism to allow an interference pattern of environmental electromagnetic energy to be ordered to allow another energy density pattern of the universe; humans; to survive.
