Article 066 - The Evolution of Semiotics

The Evolution of Semiotics

What Semiotics was

Semiotics was a human sensory response to sensory input relating to the study of signs and sign meaning.

What Semiotics was used for

It was intended to form part of the understanding of how humans sensed things and communicated them to others, part of the science of social psychology.

Why Classical Semiotics has Failed

If Semiotics is applied to examine signs and sign processes then it is dealing with signs and sign processes of the past.

If Semiotics is applied to create forms from known signs and sign processes then it is dealing again with signs and sign processes of the past.

If Semiotics includes language analysis and interpretation then it must be admitted that all language is a description of the past.

Therefore the meaning of any signs and sign processes will not be relevant to the current context or future context and any form created out of it will only be a false contextual interpretation, a theatre set of old values.

What Modern Semiotics must acknowledge

Our age is one of constant change driven by high speed human sensing and communication.

Context is only as long as the communication is being made.

In our world this is a speed of 200 to 400 milliseconds to communicate with anyone on the planet.

Prediction Semiotics is needed to stabilize the outcome of our senses and communications.

We need a way to create with evolving signs and symbols that create and do not respond to a past context.

This is the terrain of quantum uncertainty that semiotics should exist in, the future, without previous historical references.

What Modern Semiotics must be

Semiotics must only be described in reference to a timeline.

Semiotics is inextricably related to the past until it is treated as a set of discard able methods.

Semiotics must be based on constant interchange of data to establish future needs.

Semiotics must be used to establish the future by examining the events that occur within 200 to 400 milliseconds that will cause a future event.

Semiotics must examine the statements of the Sovereign, political, social sciences, philosophy, law and order, commercial and mercantile parts of society to establish any new influences and knowledge that our administrators are trying to establish onto the population and so direct them to a future goal.

Semiotics must be a constant global input of communication in response to the statements of these administrators by the public.

Semiotic practitioners must assist the administrators by the following filter before the communication takes place.

- Reject all previous knowledge of signs and sign process.

- Identify and remove all the historic signs and sign process since these

  have been described already.

- Identify the remaining signs and sign process.

- Identify the duration of the sign and sign process.

- Identify when the future sign and sign process will occur.

Semiotics will then provoke a discussion by forcing interpretation of current context through needed signs and sign processes with value, quality, appreciations of beauty and cultural semiotics that will assist in the creation of a semiotic society for the duration of the communication. For 200 to 400 milliseconds.

The process then repeats

This will allow our World to evolve and prepare for all future needs.
