Course Overview and Materials
This summer school course has 8 units of study. It is an intense, demanding, and rigorous course as outlined by Alberta Education. Expect to be working on the course 5 to 7 hours each day for the month of July. Vacations or full-time jobs should not be taken during this time.
Engaging in society! In this course, you’ll explore what it means to be a citizen of your community, your province, and your country. You’ll also consider a variety of perspectives as you explore the impact of globalization on identity, lands, cultures, economies, human rights, and quality of life. This is the first course in the stream for students with an interest in and aptitude for Social Studies. This course includes supervised assignments, unit review quizzes, and the final exam.
*Proctorio is required for these supervised assessments. A webcam and microphone are required to complete Proctorio assessments.
In order for a student to be successful in this course, VVS requires a minimum of 65% in the prerequisite course.
