Course Overview
In Art 30, students continue their in-depth artisti journey through the world of visual communication, with the creation of 2-D and 3-D artworks, using various media and processes, and the examination of the role of art in past and present societies, including a variety of art movements in different art forms. This assists students to further increase their artistic competence, sophistication, and complexity, including the development of their own personal art style, as well as to further develop creative thinking, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Art 30 includes major disciplines of drawing, design, painting, printmaking, architecture, sculpture, and art history. This course also requires students to create a culminating art portfolio and reflective essay, to reflect their progress and success throughout the course.

Students are required to have access to the following basic art supplies:
several sheets of large white art drawing paper (at least 20 at approx. 18” x 24”) and a few sheets of watercolour art paper.
set of watercolour and acrylic paints
India ink
painting brushes of several sizes
variety of pencils of various softness of leads such as 2B, 4B, 6B, etc.
charcoal or conte crayons
coloured chalk and oil pastels
ink pens, including ones with calligraphy tips
package of coloured pencil crayons and wax crayons
basic geometry set including a ruler and eraser
clay or other self-hardening material for three-dimensional assignments
