Course Overview and Materials
In Grade 4 Social Studies, we'll dive deep into our amazing province. We'll discover the unique landscapes, rich history, and how Alberta is changing and growing. We'll break our learning into three exciting parts:
Alberta's Geography: We'll become map explorers and learn about Alberta's different regions, from mountains to prairies. We'll discover the landforms and natural resources that make each area unique.
Alberta's History: We'll travel back in time to learn about the First Nations people who first called Alberta home, and how other people came to build our province. We'll hear their stories and understand how Alberta became what it is today.
Alberta's Growth and Challenges: We'll explore the challenges Albertans have faced and how they've worked together to build a strong and growing province. We'll learn about how things have changed over the years and what makes Alberta unique.
This year, you'll become an Alberta expert, learning about your home and how it's shaped by its land, people, and history!
PRIMARY STUDENTS: Materials are loaned at no cost, but must be returned at the end of the school year, or the student will be charged replacement costs.
