Course Overview
¡Hola! If you’ve always wanted to study Spanish, here’s your chance! This is the beginner course in the three-year Spanish as a second language program. In this course, you will learn how to speak Spanish in many practical and useful ways. You will also explore the cultures of Spain, Cuba, Colombia and Argentina by learning about geography, foods, celebrations, and traditions from each place. There will be many opportunities to practice what you learn through interactive games as well as written, listening, and speaking activities.
In order for a student to be successful in this course, VVS recommends a minimum of 65% in Language Arts 9 or English Language Arts (ELA) 10. No previous knowledge of the Spanish language is necessary.
