Course Overview
In Art 20, students continue to undertake an in-depth journey through the world of visual communication, with the creation of 2-D and 3-D images, using various media and processes, and the examination of the role of art in past and present societies, including a variety of art movements in different art forms. This assists students to further increase their artistic competence, sophistication, and complexity, as well as to further develop creative thinking, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Art 20 includes major disciplines of drawing, design, painting, printmaking, architecture, sculpture, and art history. Students are also encouraged to use non-traditional approaches, such as metamorphosis and accidental occurrences, as the basis for certain compositions.
Required Materials (not provided by VVS):
Students are required to have access to the following basic art supplies:
several sheets of large white drawing paper (at least 20)
set of watercolour and acrylic paints
painting brushes of several sizes
variety of pencils of various softness of leads such as 2B, 4B, 6B, etc.
package of coloured pencil crayons and wax crayons
basic geometry set including a ruler and eraser, and ink pens
