Course Overview and Materials
Get a grip on math! In this course, you’ll gain the mathematical understanding and critical thinking skills appropriate for entry into post-secondary programs that do not require the study of calculus. Topics you’ll study include radicals, quadratic functions, logic and reasoning, geometry and proportional reasoning.
The course material is sectioned into 6 units and a research project. Each unit contains an assignment as well as several practice quizzes. There are 3 supervised tests (Unit 1/2, Unit 3/4 and Unit 5/6) and a supervised Final Exam. Students must complete the Final exam to earn credit for this course.
In order for a student to be successful in this course, VVS requires a minimum of 55% in Mathematics 10C. If a student has not taken the prerequisite course, they are still responsible for ensuring they have the prerequisite knowledge. This course content assumes that a student has learned the topics covered in the prerequisite course. Prerequisite topics are not re-taught in this course.
