Nationalism defined! In this course, you’ll explore the complexities of nationalism in Canadian and international contexts, including the origins of nationalism and the influence of nationalism on regional, international, and global relations. You’ll consider a variety of perspectives as you consider how nationalism contributes to the citizenship and identities of peoples in Canada.
This is the second course in the stream for students with an interest in and aptitude for Social Studies. It is a rigorous course as outlined by Alberta Education and has 8 units of study. The course includes several timed, Proctorio-supervised assessments, including a final exam. These require a working webcam, a microphone, and a clear desk or table. Students are not allowed to write supervised assessments on a bed.
While built-in cameras are acceptable, using an external webcam is highly recommended; it provides a better field of view, which significantly reduces the risk of being flagged for suspicious activity. These can typically be purchased affordably online.
