Nationalism defined! In this course, you’ll explore the complexities of nationalism in Canadian and international contexts, including the origins of nationalism and the influence of nationalism on regional, international, and global relations. You’ll consider a variety of perspectives as you consider how nationalism contributes to the citizenship and identities of peoples in Canada.
This is the second course in the stream for students with an interest in and aptitude for Social Studies. It is a rigorous course as outlined by Alberta Education and has 8 units of study. The course requires students to use Proctorio for some assignments, unit review quizzes, and the Midterm and Final Exams. Students are required to have a webcam and a microphone, as well as a table or desk at which they can complete their work for the Proctorio assessments.
In order for a student to be successful in this course, VVS requires a minimum of 60% in the prerequisite course.
