Course Overview and Materials
This non-calculator based course is intended to prepare students for entering post-secondary studies in engineering or other science related programs. Topics you’ll study include precalculus, limits, derivatives and their applications, curve sketching, trigonometry, exponential and logarithmic functions, and integrals.
The course material is sectioned into 7 units. Each unit contains a practice quiz and one or two unit assignments. There are 4 supervised tests (Unit 1/2, Unit 3/4, Unit 5/6, and Unit 7) and a supervised Final Exam. Students must complete the Final Exam to earn credit for this course.
Although this is an asynchronous course, we have intentional pacing and there are consequences should a student fall too far behind.
In order for a student to be successful in this course, VVS requires a minimum score of 50% in Math 30-1 or for the student to be taking Math 30-1 at the same time as Math 31.
