Course Description
In Grade 5 Social Studies, students explore the rise and fall of ancient civilizations and the ways the environment shaped how those societies grew and changed. They also examine economic practices such as trade networks and taxes, as well as the role of authoritarian governments and social systems in ancient societies. Throughout the course, students consider the legacies of ancient civilizations and empires and connect those past ideas to the importance of informed citizenship today.
