Build confidence and strengthen your mathematical thinking in Math 20-2. This course develops the mathematical understanding and critical thinking skills needed for entry into post-secondary programs that do not require calculus. Topics include radicals, quadratic functions, logic and reasoning, geometry, and proportional reasoning.
The course is organized into six units and a research project. Each unit includes an assignment as well as several practice quizzes to support learning.
There are three supervised tests, each covering two units (Units 1/2, 3/4, and 5/6), along with a comprehensive supervised Final Exam covering all six units. Students must complete the Final Exam in order to earn credit for the course.
All supervised assessments are administered using remote proctoring software (Proctorio). To use Proctorio, students must have access to a computer or laptop equipped with a microphone and webcam. An external webcam is strongly recommended, as the camera must clearly capture the student’s hands, calculator, scrap paper, and upper body throughout the assessment.
