Course Overview and Materials
This is an non-academic English Language Arts course. It is designed for students with a mark in English Language Arts 9 below 65%. Focus will be placed on basic communication skills through the study of short stories, non-fiction, poetry, a feature film, and a novel. This course is recommended for students interested in pursuing post-secondary programs that do not have a primary focus in English.
*This course includes a remotely supervised Midterm Exam and Final Exam. Proctorio is required for these supervised exams. A webcam and microphone are required to complete Proctorio assessments. Also, students are not permitted to use Artificial Intelligence tools in any capacity in this course, including extensions such as Grammarly.
In order for a student to be successful in this course, VVS requires a minimum of 50% in the prerequisite course.
