English 10-2

This is an non-academic English Language Arts course. It is designed for students with a mark in English Language Arts 9 below 65%. Focus will be placed on basic communication skills through the study of short stories, non-fiction, poetry, a feature film, and a novel. This course is recommended for students interested in pursuing post-secondary programs that do not have a primary focus in English. 

*This course includes a remotely supervised Midterm Exam and Final Exam. Proctorio is required for these supervised exams. A webcam and microphone are required to complete Proctorio assessments. Also, students are not permitted to use Artificial Intelligence tools in any capacity in this course, including extensions such as Grammarly.

In order for a student to be successful in this course, VVS recommends a minimum of 50% in Language Arts 9.  If you did not complete English Language Arts in junior high school, or it’s been a long time since you’ve taken an English Language Arts class, contact the teacher for more guidance as to what the best fit is for your current knowledge and skills.
