Course Overview and Materials
Never stop growing! Health 9 involves getting to know your own habits, behaviours, interactions, and decision-making skills related to your health, your well-being, and your future. You will have the opportunity to develop knowledge, skills, and attitudes that might help you understand yourself better, relate better to others, and improve your ability to make informed decisions.
In this course, you’ll apply your learning to your personal life as you deepen your understanding of the following topics:
Career opportunities and life roles
Interpersonal skills
Promoting safety for self and others
Students may choose to complete Module 7: Human Sexuality. Students must have a parent or guardian complete the permission form before they’ll be allowed to participate in the Human Sexuality module. Should students choose to complete the Human Sexuality module, they will explore coping strategies for different rates of physical, emotional, sexual, and social development. They’ll also look at the implications and consequences of sexual assault, evaluate “safer” sex practices, and identify and describe the responsibilities and resources associated with pregnancy and parenting.
Fees apply to Out-of-Province, International, and Educational Services Agreement (ESA) enrollments.
